Introducing… the POCH BOX
I have the project to create a newsletter with one particular angle: the coaching and football-related material that Chelsea is going to post on social media.
Clubs obviously don’t lift the lid on core training practices, but there’s always a certain amount of content we can see, in pre season or during the full season.
The idea will be to comment, provide context or explain why, how they’re doing certain training practices and when there’s sufficient footage; try to analyse it.
This will also be an opportunity to make some of my threads more permanent.
And on occasion, be the platform for quick analysis that rank between the thread and full elaborated (and edited) article.
Hence, the “POCH BOX” 📦 I guess
Covering Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea.
I can imagine posting 3 - 5 newsletters per month, covering 2-4 topical subjects.
There won’t be any set publishing schedule, in order to avoid making myself a hostage of the “5 things we learned from…” format that inevitably gets filled with junk all sorts or just written slovenly.
The POCH BOX hopefully will stay clear of it.
Vanilla training 101
This isn’t the first (nor last) time I post about training practices, and I’ve already produced content on that particular subject albeit retrospectively on Tuchel’s time at Chelsea.
There’s a comprehensive explanation of the whole training process, that you can find here:
There’s a playist with 30+ training practices, explained, in that format
A light introduction to some of the words being used:
And on the weekly periodisaton:
An exemple of weekly training program, depending whether there’s one or two games per week.
